How to Make a Ringtone from a Suno Song

You made a song with Suno and the hook is stuck in your head. Here is how to cut exactly that part, export it cleanly, and hear it every time your phone rings.

Part 1: Cut the clip

  1. 1. Load the song

Copy the song link in Suno (⋯ → Share → Copy Link) and paste it into the Suno Song Downloader. The song loads with its waveform once you press Download Options.

  2. 2. Pick the start and end time

Open the Ringtone Studio section and type a start and end time, for example 0:55 to 1:25. Preview it and nudge the start so the clip begins right on the beat. Aim for 30 seconds or less.

  3. 3. Export as MP3

Export the trimmed clip as MP3. A short fade-in and fade-out is added automatically so the ringtone does not start or stop with a click. The file saves to your phone's Downloads (Android) or Files app (iPhone).

Part 2: Set it as your ringtone

Android

  1. Open Settings → Sound & vibration → Phone ringtone.
  2. Tap + or Add ringtone (wording varies by brand).
  3. Pick the MP3 from your Download folder.
  4. Optional: move the file into the Ringtones folder so it stays listed even if you clear Downloads.

iPhone (no computer needed)

  1. Install Apple's free GarageBand app.
  2. Create a project, tap the loop icon, choose Files, and drag in your MP3 from the Files app.
  3. Go back to My Songs, long-press the project and tap Share → Ringtone → Export.
  4. Tap Use sound as… → Standard Ringtone, or pick it later in Settings → Sounds & Haptics → Ringtone.

Tips for a ringtone that actually sounds good

  • Start on the hook, not the intro. You usually hear only the first 5 to 10 seconds before answering.
  • Avoid long quiet intros. A soft start is easy to miss in a noisy room.
  • End on a bar line. Clips that end on a full musical phrase loop smoothly.
  • Use the BPM readout. At 120 BPM one bar is 2 seconds, so a 16-bar clip is exactly 32 seconds; 15 bars fits under 30.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long can a ringtone be?

Keep it at 30 seconds or less. GarageBand on iPhone trims anything longer when you export a ringtone, and on Android a short clip simply loops more cleanly. 15 to 30 seconds around the chorus or drop works best.

Can I set a Suno song as my iPhone ringtone without a computer?

Yes. Cut the clip in the Suno ringtone cutter, save the MP3 to the Files app, open it in Apple's free GarageBand app, then long-press the project and choose Share → Ringtone. GarageBand can assign it as your ringtone right away.

Why does my ringtone click or pop at the start?

A hard cut in the middle of a waveform causes a click. The FreeImGen AI ringtone cutter adds a short fade-in and fade-out automatically to avoid that. If you trim elsewhere, add a fade of a few hundred milliseconds at both ends.

Can I use the clip as an alarm or notification sound too?

Yes. On Android, the same file shows up in the Alarm and Notification sound pickers once it is in your Ringtones, Alarms or Notifications folder. On iPhone, ringtones exported from GarageBand can be chosen as alarm sounds in the Clock app.
